Intentional Discipleship

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you..." Matthew 28:19

St. James Mass Jan. 2022-136.jpg

Discipleship is all about following Jesus and growing in closeness to Him. Our lives are meant to be an apprenticeship under Jesus where we learn to follow Him, imitate Him and fall deeply in love with Him. This, like any other discipline, requires training and practice.

Here are some of the ways you can begin your journey on becoming a stronger Disciple at St. James Parish:

  • Make a devotion to spend 1 hour a week with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament or sign up to be an adorer at our Perpetual Adoration Chapel

  • Contact Mary Ellen Calvert to schedule a meeting about Spiritual Gifts Inventory

  • Pray for the Parish by Praying the Rosary, attending Mass, reading the Holy Bible, Fasting and monthly confession.

  • Donations to the Guardian Angel Program, St. James School Endowment Fund or other specialized donations here online.

In the Diocese of Biloxi, we desire to see a Church alive with passionate disciples who know, love and sever the Lord with gladness and joy. We believe this passionate discipleship is made manifest in the primary values of our Diocese - to know, love, serve and witness.
